Scientific objetives

The main goal of this 4-day workshop is to bring together researchers in the fields of brown dwarfs, extrasolar planets, star formation and planet formation. There will be a few overview talks, some focused invited talks, and lots of time for informal discussion. Joint discussions will cover topics such as the comparison between observational and theoretical spectra, and the complementarity of current and future surveys for ultralow-mass objects (CFHTLS, UKIDSS, Spitzer) and the follow-up of the candidates that they will produce using GTC, TNG and other telescopes.
