Welcome to Monica Vazquez Acosta's homepage

I am a Ramón y Cajal researcher in the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias. My research
is financed with grant RYC-2013-14660 of the Ministerio de Economia y Competitividad.

I am working in the ground-based gamma-ray astronomy experiment Magic located in
the Observatorio del Roque de los Muchachos in La Palma. My research in MAGIC is
carried out within the Active Galactic Nuclei and the Astroparticles and Fundamental
physics groups.

I am also involved in the future project to build an array of Cherenkov Telescopes CTA.
The first prototype of the Large-Size Telescopes (LST) is being built in La Palma, you
can follow the progress here: live-webcam , archive.

I am also a member of the AMS experiment, which is a particle physics detector in
the international space station, and of the CMS experiment at CERN.

Previously I worked in the ZEUS experiment at HERA and you can access my old
website here.
