Research Interests
- Characterisation of L subdwarfs. Discovery, classification, atmospheric and population properties (Zhang et al. 2017a).
- Search for the most metal-poor very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs of our Galaxy's halo (Zhang et al. 2017b>, Press release).
- Revealing the physical properties of disk and halo ultracool dwarfs with benchmarks in binary systems (Zhang et al. 2013; Zhang et al. 2010, Press release; Pavlenko et al. 2015).
- Discovery and characterisation of very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in large area surveys (Zhang et al. 2009; Burningham et al. 2010; Day-Jones et al. 2013).
About Me
- I have moved to the GEPI department of the Observatoire de Paris, Meudon as a PSL fellow in 2017. I worked as an IAC fellow at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias in Tenerife of Spain from 2013 to 2016. I did my PhD in astrophysics and worked as a researcher at the Centre for Astrophysics Research of the University of Hertfordshire from 2008 to 2013. I did my MSc in astrophysics at the Yunnan Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2005 to 2008. I obtained a BSc in applied physics at the Yantai University. I was born and raised in Tai'an of Shandong province, China.
