  Mauro D'Onofrio\n\nI will review the properties of nearby early-type gala
 xies and galaxy clusters showing the most interesting observed p
 arallelisms, such as the Sersic behavior of the light profiles, 
 the color-magnitude diagram and the main scaling relations. I wi
 ll show a comparison with the data extracted from the ILLUSTRIS simul
 ation and present the constraints to the star formation history that 
 are necessary to obtain a reliable distribution of galaxies in t
 he color-magnitude diagram.
