• AGNs

  • Mid-IR fine structure lines of ArIII, SIV, NeII, & S III from 9.0-18.7?m allow the excitation in highly reddened central regions to be studied.
  • Star formation rates in Sy-2 galaxies are much higher than in Sy-1, while unification models predict that they should be the same. One possible explanation is mergers.

? High resolution observations allow both these fundamental issues to be addressed.
