WE AIM FOR THIS STUDY TO BECOME AN IR EQUIVALENT OF THE CALIBRATION WORK OF LANDOLT IN THE VISIBLE

• The magnitude median to the distribution should be in N?7, but a significant proportion of stars should be as much as 3 magnitudes brighter or fainter than the median.

• A smaller, but significant, number of stars should be in the range from N=12 to N=15.

• It should include the widest range of colours and spectral types that is possible.
