The
project "Observational Tests of the Processes of Nucleosynthesis
in the Universe" (3I2304), is supported by the Instituto
de Astrofísica de Canarias.
The
group is composed by 9 researchers although we keep an active collaboration
with researchers of other institutes. We are working in three mayor areas:
Chemical
abundances of secondary stars in low mass X-ray binaries with the aim
of obtaining information on the link between compact objects and their
progenitor stars in these systems
Chemical
composition of the atmospheres of metal poor stars aimed at investigating
the chemical evolution of the Galaxy and the nucleosynthetic yields
of supernovae
The
study of the chemical abundances in planet-host stars and metal rich
stars without known gravitationally bound giant planets to understand
the important role that the global metallicity plays in the formation
of planetary systems
