P.S. from IP: The BARS has been given time jointly with another ITP (International Time Project) : observations of Comet Hale-Bopp.The instrumentation and the schedule for Hale-Bopp determine the instrumentation and the schedule for BARS.The comet observation occupy the first two hours of a given night. BARS then has four hours, and service time has four hours. However BARS is negotiating with the ING on La Palma to concentrate the four hours into 8 hours, and to observe only for half the number of nights, so that the observers stay less time on La Palma. All the nights are bright except April 13th on the WHT.
As for time on the NOT this is divided into two: April 7th to 9th. CCD camera. April 14th to 16th CAMIRAS ( an Infrared imaging spectrograph, not very useful for BARS, but we will have to use it as has been put on for Hale-Bopp). The NOT nights are complete, after the first two hours dedicated to Hale-Bopp.
