1st UNDARK School on Astrophysical and Cosmological probes of Beyond the Standard Model: March 9-15, 2025

UNDARK's First Scientific School was a presencial event organized by IFAE and held at the  Benasque Science Center (Benasque, Spain) from March 9 to March 15, 2025.

The school was designed to equip PhD students in the field of astrophysical tests of fundamental physics with theoretical, phenomenological and numerical tools at the forefront of their field of research. It focused on cosmology, stars and other compact objects as probes of Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) physics, dark matter and general relativity.

The program included the following lectures:

  • BSM Physics in Astrophysical Data: J. Foster (Fermilab)
  • BSM Physics from stars: Sam Witte (Oxford U.)
  • BSM in late time cosmology: Laura López-Honórez (Brussels U.)
  • BSM in early cosmology: Miguel Escudero (CERN)
  • NSs, BHs and GW Observation: Irina Dvorkin (IAP)
  • Invited lecturer - The physics and astrophysics of neutron stars:  Nanda Rea (ICE)
  • Diversity and Unconscious Bias: Yossi Nir (WIS), Meytal Jona (WIS)
  • Communication and illustration: Jonas Enander, Ève Barlier

No fee was charged to participating students, with a limited number of spots offered.

More information - including the list of participants, the scientific program, and presentations or materials from most of the talks - is available on the Benasque Science Center website for the School:
