Description |
It's a set of utilities for IRAF,
which includes XGterm, XImtool, the CDL (Client Display Library), XTapemon. |
Version installed |
Ubuntu 22.04:
2.0 (installed in April 2023). |
Usage |
At
the command prompt, type:
ximtool to start the image display
(now it does work in 24-bit color depth too)
xgterm to start the terminal window for
IRAF
Please note that ximtool now
works in 24-bit color depth. |

XGterm:
use xgterm instead of xterm as the terminal where to start IRAF.
As a matter of fact, IRAF only works correctly in a XGterm terminal.
XImtool: the major change is the support of
TrueColor visuals (so-called '24-bit displays'). However, XImtool
should still considered as a beta-release (though stable enough
for general usage), and may still present some rough edges or unexpected
behaviors, depending on the specific platform. |
