Supernova Detection in Galaxy-Galaxy lensed systems
I'm currently working on the SGLF (Supernova and Gravitational Lenses Follow-up) project with Prof. Ismael Perez Fournon and his team on the detection of Magnified Super Novae in galaxy-galaxy lensed systems. The goal of the project is to get measurements of the Hubble Lemaitre constant, H0, in the local universe that are independent of the estimates obtained from the CMB analysis.
The SGLF project includes collaborations with the LensWatch project (P.I. Steve Rodney) and the SIRAH (Supernovae in the Infrared avec Hubble) project (P.I. Saurabh Jha).
In addition to these activities I'm leading a polarimetry observation program on a sample of Superluminous Supernovae (SLSNe) which main goal is to test the magnetar progenitor model. The project was allocated 10 hours of observations with ALFOSC on the Nordic Optical Telescope and 9 hours of observations with the Liverpool Telescope during semester 2021A.
Anomalous Microwave Emission in Molecular Clouds
Some of my research is focused on the study on Anomalous Microwave Emission ( AME) in a subsets of Galactic molecular clouds within the PolAME project and the RADIOFOREGROUNDS project. For this I use some data obtained with the Multi-Frequency Instrument (MFI) of the QUIJOTE-CMB experiment.
With another group of collaborators from the IAC and from Japan we work on the development of the Cosmic Amorphous Dust (CAD) model which, in competition with other models, could also be a source of AME.
Magnetic Fields in Molecular Clouds and Star-Forming Regions
Some of my research has also been dedicated to the study of Magnetic Fields in Star-Forming regions. The role of this component in competition with the the turbulence of the Interstellar Medium (ISM) and gravity, which is the main contributor to star-formation in molecular clouds, is still not well understood ( Planck and BLASTPol collaborations).
Observation Techniques
Photometry, spectroscopy and linear polarimetry in the visible, in the infra-red (IR), in the submillimetre (submm) and at radio-frequencies.
