The Galactic Centre

Spain has an important Galactic Centre observing community. CanariCam will allow them to see the Galactic Centre in more detail than ever before.

Only observable in the IR

• Best resolution to date 0".44 (3000AU), IRTF+image sharpening.
• CanariCam can reach 1000AU resolution with the "raw" image (about 500AU with image improvement).
• You can study the kinematics
• You can study the energy distribution of individual sources.
