The main goal of this project is to obtain color-magnitude diagrams (CMDs) reaching the oldest main-sequence turnoffs for a sample of isolated dwarf galaxies, using the ACS camera on board of the Hubble Space Telescope.
This is the first time that these kind of data will be obtained for dwarf galaxies beyond the Milky Way satellite system.
The evolution of isolated dwarf galaxies is free from environmental effects due to the strong interaction with the parent galaxy, and thus, offer the possibility to probe global phenomena such as the effects of reionization in the early star formation of dwarf galaxies or the ability of SNe feedback to remove gas in small halos.
