About this image: The edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 3628 is a member of the same compact group of galaxies as M65 and M66, the Leo Triplet. Our view from its galactic core is blocked by an obscuring dust lane. Its thick flaring disk is a likely product of past interactions with other galaxies from the neighborhood.
