About this image: This impressive pair of galaxies, made up of NGC 4438 (center) and the smaller NGC 4435, is known as 'The Eyes'. Recent gravitational interactions have strongly distorted NGC 4438's appearance, with its bent disk, long tidal tails, and displaced dust lane being its most prominent features.
