About this image: The distorted spiral galaxy NGC 4490 (center) is going through an interaction with the smaller NGC 4485, to which it is still connected through a stellar bridge. Many bright knots of star formation, likely stimulated by the collision, can be seen distributed along the pair of galaxies.
