I am Staff Scientist at the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC). Born in Santa Cruz de La Palma, Spain, I studied Physics at the University of La Laguna (ULL) and then did my PhD at the IAC. In 2009 I moved to the United Kingdom for two years to work as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Sheffield. I came back at the IAC in 2011 as a research fellow, and then I was awarded Marie Curie intra-European and Ramón y Cajal fellowships. I am the principal investigator of the IAC research group Nuclear Activity in Galaxies: a 3D Perspective from the Nucleus to the Outskirts and from 2017 until 2023 I was representative of the IAC research line Formation and Evolution of Galaxies.
