Codes

One of the goals of POLMAG is the development of the “Polarized Radiation Diagnostics Website”, where any scientist interested in doing science through the interpretation of spectro-polarimetric observations will find our spectral synthesis and Stokes inversion codes documented in a user-friendly way. For the moment, the following ones are available to the astrophysical community.

PORTA

PORTA (POlarized Radiative TrAnsfer) is a radiative transfer code for the simulation of the spectral line intensity and polarization caused by scattering processes and the Hanle and Zeeman effects in 3D models of stellar atmospheres. More information.

HanleRT-TIC

HanleRT-TIC is a radiative transfer code for the spectral synthesis and inversion of Stokes profiles caused by the joint action of scattering processes and the Hanle and Zeeman effects. The inversion module of the code is called the Tenerife Inversion Code (TIC), which uses  HanleRT for the spectral synthesis. More information.

HAZEL

HAZEL (Hanle and Zeeman Light) is a computer program for the synthesis and inversion of Stokes profiles caused by the joint action of atomic level polarization and the Hanle and Zeeman effects in some spectral lines, such as those of the He I 1083.0 nm and D3 multiplets. More information.

P-CORONA

P-CORONA is a novel computer program for modeling the intensity and polarization of coronal atomic lines in any given three dimensional (3D) model of the solar corona. More information.
