Forewords
This is an introductory course to IDL, where the first steps to follow are described, and it is particularly useful for people who has no previous IDL user experience. A large fraction of IDL users (like myself) use to learn just what they need for their own applications, mainly due to the large posibilities available within this package. Precisely for this reason this course could be of interest for IDL users who wish to organise their ideas and knowledge in a more systematic way. In this course people are expected to seat in front of a computer and play around with a large number of proposed examples where the key aspects are discussed.
