I am an Industrial Engineer (Master of Science Degree), Mechanical Speciality, from the Universidad de Sevilla (Spain). As a Mechanical Engineer in the QUIJOTE CMB Project, from Sep 2011 to today, I have worked on: design, manufacturing and proof of tools and accessories of manipulation, integration and assembly of the First Instrument of the Quijote Experiment, as well as its integration, testing and commissioning at the Lab; transfer of the First Telescope and the First Instrument of the Quijote Experiment to the TO; design, manufacturing, testing and commissioning of a Prototype for the Second Instrument of the Quijote Experiment; design, manufacturing, integration, testing and commissioning of the Second Instrument of the Quijote Experiment at the Laboratory.

I work as a project manager at the IAC since 2000. Among the most important projects I have worked on are the design and manufacture of the OSIRIS instrument, a collaboration between the IAC and the IA-UNAM, Mexico. It is a multipurpose instrument, camera and multiobject spectrograph, which works in the optical range. At the moment it is in full scientific operation in the GTC, at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory. Also, in the design study of the European Solar Telescope (EST), a collaboration of 15 countries, which concluded in the conceptual design of a 4 meter solar telescope, from which the GREST project is born, which gives continuity to the next phase of the EST design and development. I am currently developing my activity in the QUIJOTE project, an experiment that observes in the microwave band from 10 to 50 GHz, which is installed at the Teide Observatory.

I studied Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Design Specialization (2009-2014), at the Bilbao Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSIB), where I also held an Intensification Course in Aeronautical Technologies (2013-2014). I am currently completing a Master's Degree in Science and Space Technology by the ETSIB. As for my work experience, from April to December 2014 I was a fellow in the Aerospace Division at SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas S.A. (Structures and Mechanisms for Satellites), where I later worked as a project engineer between January 2015 and January 2017. I currently work as a project engineer at the IAC Mechanics Department at the QUJOTE Project.

At the moment I am part of the engineering team of the AOLI (Adaptive Optics Lucky Imager) project where my tasks include the development of GPU (Graphics Processor Unit) image processing software for the TP3WFS wavefront sensor and the control software migration of the instrument to Linux. During the last 10 years I have worked on scientific instrumentation projects, mainly in control systems, data acquisition systems, laboratory tests and data processing.

 Ruggero Piazzolla HARMONI  Mechanical Engineer

Member of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, I am colaborating in the design, manufacturing, integration and verification of some elements of Pre-Optics of HARMONI, the integral field spectrograph to be installed in the EELT telescope. Currently, I am in charge of the manufacturing, assembly and testing of some prototypes of the cryogenic mechanisms of the system. One of them is the prototype of the focal plane masks wheel, which has to fulfill the requirement of high position repeatability in cryogenic environment.

I have carried out the following tasks included in the IAC work package: identification of a viable solution, in terms of space and positioning, to house the HARPS3 instrument; refurbishment of the Coudé room selected to accommodate the instrument and subsystems; design and manufacture of the necessary thermal enclosures to ensure the required thermal stability.

 Daniel Fernández NIRPS Optics Department

I am currently working as a Laboratory Technician for the NIRPS (Near Infra Red Planet Searcher) project, where my tasks include the development of the fabrication, integration and verification of the optical fiber bundles as well as the integration of the opto-mechanical assembly. Previously, I worked for two years as a Laboratory Technician supporting the Optics Department of the IAC in their projects and mainly in the repair and commissioning of the Optical Coatings Laboratory.
