Information For Press and Other Media.

From this section we want to facilitate the work of the journalists who is interested in divulging our work. Here is a multimedia collection, text and links that will facilitate the task of elaborating press notes or preparing news articles on the Virtual Acoustic Space project.


Backgroud.

Virtual Acoustic Space is a project that persecutes a clear objective: to offer to the blind people the opportunity to develop in its surroundings through the recreation of the space by means of sound 3D.

The project has 8 years of history and is carried out by the Universidad de La LAguna and the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias, in Tenerife (Canary islands, Spain).

Presently we are 22 people in our team. More information on our human team (present and past) here.

Since its beginnings, the project has received the support of diverse institutions. In some cases this support has been financier. Subventions of the Government of the Canary Islands, IMSERSO, Spanish Ministry of Science and Technology and European Comunity have been received. In our web we published the last news on our project (experiments that are being carried out, improvements in the portable prototype, attendance to congresses, etc) through the News section.
