OTELO deep image & Ancillary data

OTELO sources has been obtained ussing a reference image resulting of the combination of all TF, it is an OTELO DEEP image. This image has been processed to obtain the source catalog from wich pseudo spectra has been obtained. The response of the overall TF configuration, taking into account the efficiency of the detector is shown in the right figure. Note that it is a theoretical response which does not takes into account off-center FOV and dirthering effects; despite this simplification, such filter response can be used as a valid characterization of an OTELO DEEP filter and it can be used in combination with ancillary data to obtain photometric redshifts.

Despiste than OTELO have a larger sensibility than any other survey, it requires the use of ancillary data to determine redshift properties of the most of the detected objects.

The overall proccess implies:

  • to obtain an OTELO-DEEP image (combining all the images as described before)
  • to reprocess ancillay data images where the the Point Spread Function, PSF, is simillar to the ones of the TF images
  • to mach ancillary data (catalogs) when the image PSFs are worse than TF images

In additon, there is a catalog of X-rays, Chandra/ACIS-I instrument, from Pović et al 2009 which is not included in this realase. HST/ACShas been also used for morphological studies, and DEEP2 Galaxy redshift survey spectrospcopy; (Newman et al. 2013 ApJSS 208, 5N) as souce of spectroscopic redshifts.
