Outbound mission to CNRS-LAPTh
During the first reporting period, IAC implemented structured outbound missions to CNRS-LAPTh involving two PhD researchers and the Principal Investigator. These exchanges combined both medium- and long-term stays to ensure sustained scientific interaction and deep integration within the host theory group in Annecy.
The mobility programme focused on light dark matter phenomenology, hyperon production in supernovae, and gamma-ray probes of dark sectors. Beyond advancing joint research projects, the missions reinforced structured PhD co-supervision mechanisms, strengthened institutional collaboration at senior and early-career levels, accelerated knowledge transfer, and contributed to peer-reviewed publications and publicly available preprints. The complementary combination of short- and long-term stays established a solid foundation for sustained bilateral collaboration and subsequent reciprocal exchanges within the UNDARK framework.
CERN Missions
During the reporting period, a total of five research visits were carried out at the CERN Theory Department under WP2. These missions involved one visitor from Instituto de Física de Altas Energías (IFAE), three visitors from the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), and one visitor from the Weizmann Institute of Science (WIS).
The scientific activities undertaken during these stays covered research on gravitational wave memory signals from primordial black hole mergers, which resulted in a peer-reviewed publication (STRAT2), as well as collaborative work on supernova physics and hyperon production in dense astrophysical environments within the framework of beyond-the-Standard-Model searches (STRAT1). Additional work focused on theoretical studies of supernova cooling bounds applied to light dark matter scenarios, leading to a publicly available preprint, and on modelling ultralight dark matter (ULDM) and self-interacting dark matter (SIDM), with implications for galactic dynamics and small-scale structure (STRAT3).
Overall, these five visits strengthened structured collaboration between consortium partners and CERN, enhanced integration of early-career and senior researchers within a leading theoretical environment, and generated concrete scientific outputs including one peer-reviewed publication, one preprint, and several projects currently in preparation.
