Transform Line-Strength indices from Lick/IDS to LIS

This tool should be used to transform any Lick line-strength index measured in the Lick/IDS system to the newly define Line Index System (LIS). This tool is useful to directly compare the user's line-strength results to those in the literature (also transformed to the same LIS resolution). See LIS - Reference Tables for literature examples already converted to different LIS resolutions.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Browse for the file with Lick/IDS line-strength values, for the allowed indices, to be transformed to the Line Index System. The first row of the files should contain a header indicating the label and indices to be transformed. Subsequent rows should list the actual values. Columns must be separated by white spaces. Please use the following example as a reference (download example file):

  • Pick the desired output LIS resolution(s).
  • Press the Submit Query button.

On output, a new window will open with the progress of your query. Links to the desired values will be provided. The output files will remain in our FTP server for 10 days (unless a new query with the same input filename is requested, in which case the output files will be overwritten).

The allowed indices are: CN1, CN2, Ca4227, G4300, Fe4383, Ca4455, Fe4531, C4668, Hbeta, Fe5015, Mg1, Mg2, Mgb, Fe5270, Fe5335, Fe5406, Fe5709, Fe5782, Na5895, TiO1, TiO2, HdA, HgA, HdF, HgF
