- Pick the SSP library, Isochrone and IMF type to use.
- Then select the IMF slope, and the range of metallicities, ages and [α/Fe] you desire.
If no age, metallicity and [α/Fe] is selected, we will provide all the possible values.
- In the Output Parameters boxes
- Enter the desired instrumental configuration in the boxes. For convenience the boxes are filled by default with the limits of the stellar parameters of the chosen library at the nominal wavelength and resolution, butedit the different values at will.
- For the computation of photometric magnitudes from the spectra, the user should load a file with the desired filter responses as well as choosing a reference zeropoint from the options provided. If no file is uploaded, we will use a default one (filters_default.res). Please use that file as guideline for your own filter file. Magnitudes correponding to filters which are not fully contained within the requested wavelength range will be assigned a -99.99 value.
- Press the 'Submit Query' button.
On output, a new window will open with the progress of your query. Links to the desired spectra, line-strength indices and magnitudes will be provided. For illustration purposes, an image will appear below with the first spectrum in your query. The title of the figure will indicate the SSP parameters of such spectrum. The output files will remain in our FTP server for 10 days.
IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to provide outputs as quickly as possible to the user and reduce the load on our server, we have pre-computed a set of tar files with spectra and model predictions for the most common requests. These include all possible SEDs and predictions for a given library, isochrone, IMF type and slope, at the nominal instrumental setup, in FITS format, of the selected models. To access those files follow these steps below:
- Pick the SSP library, Isochrone and IMF type to use.
- Select the IMF slope you desire.
- Do not select any Age, Metallicity or [α/Fe].
- Do not make changes in the Output Parameters box.
- Hit the Submit button.
Any alteration of other parameters (e.g. spectral range) will result in the full computation of the models with the requested values. This could take well beyond 10 minutes.
