Instituto de Física de Altas Energías
The IFAE is a leading Spanish research center in fundamental physics. It covers a wide spectrum of activities, including theoretical and experimental research as well as instrumentation development. The IFAE node will be led by the theory group , internationally renowned for its expertise in various aspects of axion dark matter and gravitational waves. They are also known for introducing innovative concepts for axion indirect detection with telescopes in the radio or microwave band, which is relevant for the scientific exploitation of the experiments measuring the polarization and spectrum of the CMB from the Canary Islands observatories. In addition, IFAE's experimental gamma ray group is part of the MAGIC and CTA collaborations with a strong focus on the overlaps with fundamental physics.
