Our project is presented in public for the first time in the IASTED (International Conference on Signal Processing and Communications), at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

6 April 1998

As a result of the news generated by EFE agency, the project comes to the public light through an endless number of mass media, occupying front pages. Many radio channels and all the national television networks and some foreigners made interviews and even documentaries. Local and national newspapers of first magnitude present us like a revolutionary and extremely hopeful investigation.

23 June 1998

The experimentation prototype concludes. It is based on two camcorders located in conventional glasses, a set of stereovision softwares developed by us and a previously stored sound reproduction system.

September 1998

The first measurement with the semiautomatic HRTF measurement system is made to one of the team members. The distant measures were made (17x9x8 measures).

An extremely significant and conclusive experiment is made with a blind person and the experimentation prototype. Candelaria D.A. identifies the disposition of the objects that surround her, until the extreme that she can make a drawing that indicates the precense an location of a table, a column and a window.

25 September 1998

Visit of the Director of the ONCES's Tiflotechnic Unit, D. Bernabé Martínez. We show to him the multiple activities that are carried out in the project and the own prototype. He contributes with some significant ideas, like creating a computer game for young blind people, based on the developed technology.

28 October 1998

The project is presented at Paris in the occasion of the I Journee Acoustique Virtuelle, where we share with very significant personalities of the auralization technology, and it is able to wake up a great interest between the participants.

9 December 1998

A nourished representation of our project moves to Madrid to present it at the International Tiflotechnic Exhibition, organized by the ONCE. We share with significant companies in this field, like Visuaide, Frank Audiodata,.....
